On Tacit Socialism

The startup bubble has contributed to tacit socialism. All the extra startup jobs have helped the young and over-educated into lightweight desk work with relatively high salaries. In the case of Uber and Lyft, it has also given the under-employed jobs as freelance cab drivers. Likewise, society has benefited from free software and services pumped out by startups eager to build market-share quickly, often in a vain attempt to achieve a monopoly and return value to investors. Convoluted as this process is, the result is a redistribution of wealth.
