On the Media

We're going to miss the mainstream media. For better or for worse, the cable and network news stations were censors for unpleasant rhetoric. Perhaps this led to bland, uninspiring leaders. But, the benefit was that it filtered out demagogues. That filter is gone, thanks to social media. Everybody gets their news from Facebook, Twitter, or the original social media: the email forward. And in today's environment, it's only the most incendiary sound bites that get passed along.
