Neologism: Recursive Prophecy

recursion

I'm coining a new expression, "recursive prophecy." This is a prophecy whose content refers to the prophecy itself.

The most classic example is going to a psychic, looking for advice on your love life, and being told, "you will fall in love with a psychic."

Another example is when I got my first Tarot reading. I was struggling to come up with iPhone app ideas, and so my friend gave me a Tarot reading to stimulate my thinking. And the reading told me to make a Tarot app for the iPhone.

Third example is this morning, I was looking for something to blog about. So I opened up Adobe Ideas to stimulate my thinking, and it told me to make a blog post about it.
